Macaroni and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for topping)
Preparation:
- Cook the macaroni according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and stir to create a roux (a smooth paste).
- Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly, until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and paprika until smooth.
- Toss the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
- Pour into a greased baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
