Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for topping)

Preparation:

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and stir to create a roux (a smooth paste).
  3. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and paprika until smooth.
  5. Toss the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
  6. Pour into a greased baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
